31 Days of Characters - Day 02: Captain Ean de Gillis

Making up for not doing this yesterday by posting for Everyone's Favorite Team Dad!!!!

Name: Ean de Gillis, Captain of The Arcadian Titan
Age: 43! he's an old man
Appearance: Russel Crowe from Master and Commander don't at me I know what I'm about. A little over 6', straw blonde hair that goes to about his shoulders. Dark blue eyes, crowsfeet wrinkles.
Backstory: Middle of three children, youngest son, Ean grew up comfortably in the house of an Antillan Senator. It isn't so much that Ean was viewed as "the spare" to his brother's "heir". It is just that Ean didn't have many prospects that would come without them being handed to him. But preferably he would go into politics, or take a commander position in the Antillan defense, or any number of things that would be sure to display his name and abilities as a de Gillis. So he enlists into the Albion ranks after graduation, right at the start of the war, and disappears into them. While there, he meets Prince Sebastian, his fiancee Noah, and her assistant Clarence. They get into some shenanigans and become all really good friends. After the war is over, on the 10th anniversary of the treaty signing, Sebastian gifts him with The Arcadian Titan!
General likes/dislikes: That first sip of a good, strong cup of tea that is just on the right side of being too hot. Loves being able to explore the world and learn the other cultures, especially after the destruction that came with the war. Likes to tinker and develop small devices that aren't... of really important use, but he does appreciate being able to do something with his hands. Dislikes having to take the role of the Bad Guy, but understands that sometimes he has to. Also, apparently, doesn't like bananas.
Relation to other characters: He is Team Dad aboard the ship. This known, and this is widely accepted.
Current arc: Adventures! Worrying about his kids crew!
Future?: depends on the dice eyes emoji but big
A Song: I listened to a lot of "Sky Full of Song" by Florence and the Machine while writing his backstory.

Also I was asked to talk about his food preferences: He's a fan of fish-based dishes! Also like... light foods in general. Dark greens, and, dare I say it, nuts.

31 Days of Characters - Day 03: Cassia

Okay Dianne requested I talk about Cassia next!!!

Name: Cassia
Age: 23-ish? Older than Sera (21) younger than Chan (25).
Appearance: Golden hair with a gentle curl that goes down to midback. Skin is pale, but not fair -- has her fair amount of freckles from working outdoors so often. A button nose, and dusty green eyes that are likened to the depths of a forest pond.
Backstory: Born an only child to Nai and Terrick, she grew up a little spoiled but treated with an even hand. She worked in the orchards along with her parents and their hired hands. She met Chan, Loki, and Tallah fairly early on after they were adopted, as her parents' orchards border the far end of the elderly couple who adopted the three. Became really good friends with them very quickly. When Tallah passed away and Loki disappeared, she and Sera helped keep Chan on his feet, and since then, she really stopped taking the time to think about herself.
General likes/dislikes: She enjoys working in the orchard, but she hates the menial housework chores that her mom makes her do. She's very religious (in a quiet sort of way), and will always go to service. Isn't too big of a reader, but enjoys listening to stories.
Relation to other characters: She's childhood friends with Chan and Loki, and only met Sera more recently after he became friends with Tallah. Her relationship with Arika is... awkward, as will be her relationship with all the others (because they are very much Of The Church or Not Of The Church).
Current arc: I can't say for certain, as I'll be changing a lot about her character arc in draft 4!!
Future?: This too is also up in the air. I have a general idea of where I want her to go, but it is Huge Spoilers.
A Song: "Fause, Fause" by Ruth Notman has been such a Cassia song since draft 2.

Also, Dianne has asked me to talk about her ribbons! I can't remember what exactly I included in draft 2 about them, but they started with Loki. He would leave her ribbons and notes, I think probably anonymously at first, until she found out who it was who was leaving them. Then they would be left as coded messages. She wears them in her hair the first time that Cassia sees Loki since the night he disappeared and let me tell you! He gets emotional!!
