My Place to Land

While on a job for Advent, Echo is arrested by the Beloved Dust and turned over to Excerpt Signet for trial. She offers them a choice: To serve as her bodyguard, or to serve a term in the Thyrsian guard.

They thought being a bodyguard for the last remaining Excerpt would be easy. Instead, they find themself wrapped up the politics of a swiftly crumbling society, and have to decide between Advent's vision of the future, or a system that has never cared for them, and the woman who wants to change it all.
